As you are aware on Monday 23rd March 2020, COVID-19 restrictions were put in place which resulted in all Collegians venues being closed with only 12 hours notice. We, like all Australians, needed to do whatever it takes to keep our community safe and reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Although the closure of our venues leaves us facing many new and unforeseen challenges, and while we have no further information on when we may be allowed to open our doors, or in what form, many examples being touted as continuing the 1 person per 4 metres square, room limit numbers, sanitizers, queueing with 1.5 metres in mind, and most interesting of all, taking the temperature of all persons entering the premises, the Collegians management team is working hard behind closed doors to ensure that we have the means to do so.

As much as we would love to be open as soon as possible for both our members and the nearly 200 staff that are stood down this probably won’t be happening in the short term.

In the meantime, I would like to take the opportunity to answer some of the questions our members have been asking.

Unfortunately due to the unforeseen circumstances, & closure of the club we will be unable to hold the $500 or $5K Cash Draw on Thursday 30th April and we apologise for all those who have entered the draw.

With all the uncertainty surrounding the if or when the NRL will recommence we’ve decided to cancel the tipping comp for 2020. All entry fees will be refunded as $20 added in points back onto the tipsters membership card.

For all those who have Collegians Smart Money that has an expiry date from 23rd March 2020 to the date that we re-open the club we will extend the Expiry date for a period of time post our confirmed open date and we will communicate this extension in more details once we have information on when we can open and to what level. At this time you will be given the opportunity to:

  • Exchange Smart Money for Points
  • Use your Smart Money to purchase meals at any of our dining areas or
  • Use your Smart Money to purchase EFTPOS cards.

Again, all Collegians Gift Vouchers with expiry dates during our closure will be extended for a period of time, pending our official open date.

For those Members who have had a birthday during our closure, we will be placing a $20 Birthday Voucher on your card that will, like all Birthday vouchers, be available for a period of 30 days post our open date.

There will be a large number of our members whose membership will expire during this period of closure. Upon re-opening, we will communicate to each of these members to remind you that your membership has or is due to expire and aim to provide additional service to ensure cards are promptly printed and received in a timely manner.

Our online Renewal Form remains accessible, however, cards will not be printed until that time we re-open the club. For those who have completed & paid their membership online, our administration team will be in contact with you once we re-open our doors.

For now, our doors remain closed until that time the Government advises us that is safe to re-open. We will endeavour to keep you updated as the situation develops.
We thank you for your patience and understanding and encourage you to keep and encourage you to stay home, stay safe & if you should have any questions at all please don’t hesitate to contact us at or send us a message through Facebook or Instagram.
